Your account with Trine is like any other account, which means that as soon as a repayment hits your account you are liable for taxes. Down below you'll find our most common questions and answers.

  • Do you automatically report my taxes to the Swedish Tax Authority (Skatteverket)?

Yes, if you've registered your Swedish Personal Number we'll report your taxes automatically. You can always add or change this information under Settings.  

Please note that if you invest on behalf of a company you will need to report your taxes to the Swedish Tax Authority yourself and we recommend that you contact them directly if you have any questions regarding the information required. 

  • When is the last date to report my Swedish Personal Number?

You can update your Swedish Personal Number until the 31 of December, 2019.

  • What happens if I haven't reported my Swedish Personal Number?

We won't be able to automatically report your taxes. You'll need to report it yourself to the Swedish Tax Authority (Skatteverket). In your Dashboard you can find details about your investments under 'Taxation overview'. If you have any questions or are unsure about the process we recommend that you reach out directly to the Swedish Tax Authority

  • I don't have a Swedish Personal Number, what do I have to do?

If you are a resident in a country other than Sweden, we recommend that you contact the Tax Authority in that country to ask what is required from you.

You can always find a summary of all your transactions in your Dashboard, under the tab "Transactions". In this summary you can see a breakdown of interest paid per year and and losses that should be declared.

It's important to note that we are not tax advisers, so for any questions about issues related to this we recommend that you contact the Tax Authority or a professional expert within this field.

If you're looking for the currency conversion used for our calculations, we use the Monthly average exchange rates by Sveriges Riksbank (Sweden's Central Bank).
