The first thing you need to do is to sign up and create a Trine account. Choose to sign up with BankID, or with your email.

  1. Note that when you register your name, make sure it's your legal name, and not a nickname or a short version of your name.

  2. Verify your personal details. All investors will need to verify their identity. For an individual, it's either Swedish BankID, Norwegian bankID or a copy/photo of your ID/ passport, and for companies, it's a few more. You only need to do this step once.

    As a financial institution Trine is obligated to verify that you are who you say you are. This policy is due to a banking regulation commonly known as Know Your Customer (KYC). It is a measure to comply with various regulations and prevent fraud, money laundering and other illegal activities.

    We use Onfido, a certified verification and authentication company, to verify your account. Here are some tips to ensure the verification process goes smoothly:

    • Take a clear picture of your identity document, where every single detail is readable without any blur

    • Take the photos somewhere brightly lit

    • Turn flash off to avoid glare on your documents

    • Make sure the details on your Trine account match the details on your legal document

    • Do not take a picture of a picture

      We understand that the identity verification process and related documents are sensitive. Trine and Onfido protect your privacy and handle personal information according to legal requirements.   3. If you have signed up with password or MFA as your choosen login method, you will also have to upload proof of adress as part of your KYC process (Know your customer). Read more about KYC process.

    1. Find a document (utility bill or similar) that contains your address, dated no longer than 3 months ago.
    2. Take a photo or scan the document before you upload it on your Dashboard.
    3. Once the document is uploaded, it will be reviewed and we will get back to you if anything else is requested in order to verify the address.


    Some tips and tricks:

    • Make sure your document includes all information that you've entered when registering your address:

      • Your full name

      • Street / postal code

      • City

    • The document/photo is clearly readable, without any glare or blur.

    • If you send a photo of the document, make sure that the whole document and its content are fully visible and not cropped in any way.

Please note that it may take 2-3 business days for documents to be verified and accepted.
